Our carbon footprint
Manufacturing differently also means emitting less. By starting with an existing material and producing locally, OCENEO reduces its footprint at every stage, without greenwashing, and also by acknowledging our areas for improvement.
Starting from existing material
The raw material with the lowest carbon footprint is the one that isn't produced. By upcycling end-of-life wetsuits, we avoid the extraction and manufacture of new neoprene, a very energy-intensive material derived from petroleum.
Every wetsuit saved also means one less piece of waste to incinerate or landfill, and thus avoided emissions at the end of the chain.
Short supply chains, a carbon lever
Collection, processing, and manufacturing all take place in France, just a few kilometers from our workshop. Less transport, fewer intermediaries: fewer emissions compared to outsourced production.
Producing on demand, in small batches, also helps us avoid overproduction and unsold inventory.
We are not perfect, but every recycled wetsuit means one less emission.
